Receptor Anesthesia · Aachen
A dental anesthesia that precisely targets individual nerve receptors — instead of numbing the mandibular nerve and the entire nerve.

The Method
Nearly the only thing you feel is the thin needle itself — slight, but honest. No pressure pain from an anesthetic depot afterwards.
No numb mouth. Speak, eat, smile — right after treatment, without the risk of accidentally biting yourself.
No waiting time for the anesthesia to take effect. Treatment can begin as soon as it is administered.

The Instrument
A mini-hydraulically controlled precision instrument made of medical-grade stainless steel, for which Dr. Mansouri holds both the European and the US patent.
Instead of a depot injection at the mandibular nerve, Biofeedject® delivers the anesthetic precisely and minimally invasively at the treatment site — including for dental implants or procedures across all four quadrants in a single session.
Areas of application
In bone surgery, proprioception is preserved — the patient can give feedback at any time, significantly reducing the risk of nerve injury and perforation.
Even when removing impacted wisdom teeth in the mandible — the classic risk zone around the inferior alveolar nerve — anesthesia is targeted rather than widespread.
When placing implants, including in the edentulous mandible: the patient’s preserved feedback adds a further layer of safety alongside radiographic planning.
Precise anesthesia of individual treatment areas without numbing the entire jaw — particularly comfortable during periodontal treatment.
Combining receptor anesthesia with intraligamentary anesthesia allows precise work at the apex while control is maintained.
For fillings, root canal treatment and prosthetic work, occlusal contact, smile line and jaw movement remain assessable throughout.
At a glance
Immediate effect. No waiting time — treatment can begin right away.
Virtually painless injection. Essentially only the fine needle prick is noticeable.
No numbness. Speak, eat and smile straight afterwards — without the risk of injuring yourself.
Proprioception is preserved. The patient can give feedback during the procedure.
Lower risk of injury. The danger of nerve injury and perforation is markedly reduced.
All four quadrants in one session. Extensive treatment without multiple appointments.
Considerably less anesthetic. The required quantity is reduced substantially.
Automatic pressure control. Adapts to tissue resistance, no pooling effects.
Ideal for anxious patients and children. The gentle procedure noticeably lowers the barrier.
Occlusion remains assessable. Information on occlusal contact, smile line and jaw movement is retained.
Origin
Developed by Dr. Said Mansouri, dentist in Aachen — based on his doctoral research under Prof. Spiekermann and Prof. Lambert at RWTH Aachen University on receptor anesthesia, and over a decade of daily clinical use.
Instead of numbing an entire nerve, Biofeedject® targets the fine nerve receptors in the gingiva, periosteum and periodontal ligament. The patient's ability to respond is preserved, so nerve injuries can be almost entirely ruled out. A proven method, not a trend — tested in daily practice, not designed on a drawing board.
